Inspiration Week – Places

So, my good friend Matt from Capture studios and I had a vision a couple months back to randomly go somewhere for a week and just get inspired by the culture and surrounding areas. I think Matt said it best when he said ” This trip had no destinations. Our mantra was simple: Wake up. Eat breakfast. Get in the car. See where we end up. No maps, no GPS, minimal cell phone usage. One day, we were downtown, the next, we were in a rainforest. It was all for one reason: to be inspired by what we saw.” That pretty much sums up our whole trip! Sometimes I feel that we get so distracted by the hustle of life that we forget about the things all around us, the things that inspire us to be better, the things that make us “feel.” My goal for the trip was to take pictures of those things, whether it be a tree, a street musician, a homeless man, a texture, a color, a movement, or just plain life being lived. All of these things have a place in life, and the pictures you are about to see are things that were inspiration to me. They are about depth and connectedness to keeping our eyes open, not looking on the ground or at our phone, but to stop, take a breath and look around. I feel, as an artist, that we must keep our level of creativity or inspiration at the highest level possible, but what we so often forget is that inspiration is everywhere. It is really easy to find. Do you need to be inspired today? Go step outside and just take in everything around you and tell me you are not inspired! Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

SO incredible! It’s incredibly inspiring to see the images you got just from hopping in a car and driving wherever the road took you… love it! This goes on my list of things I need to do in life!
